Welcome to Part 1 of the insight into my beautiful friends book “A Written Journey into Meditation” that I introduced here on the blog last week. If you missed it you can read about it here.
Today is a little collage of passages touching on the different areas of your life that meditation and its practise can benefit.
Believing in yourself and choosing to learn the craft of quietening your mind can bring about change no matter your lifestyle.
You may be thinking “But I don’t have any major or minor issues in my life at the moment to work on”. That’s fine! You don’t need to have issues to embark on embracing meditation. You can simply enjoy a deeper connection of awareness to self through learning the art of mindfulness breathing and enhance your inner joy and peace.
Enjoy today’s ‘snippet’…
Meditation allows you to identify with your inner self and thus will not subject you to your usual myriad of never ending thoughts. You will feel an expansion in your consciousness; you feel inner peace and inner joy. The unusual feature to this kind of happiness is that it does not depend upon outer circumstances; this happiness is self-generated, it comes from your own souls spontaneous joy.
A simplistic view of looking at your chakras is to compare them to defragging a computer disk. You visualize each chakra and feel yourself cleansing the chakra, making the energy flow improve and brighten the outlook of each chakra.
When you are in tune with the energy attached and surrounding your body, you become aware of when your energy is depleted. The more you work with your own energy the more in tune you become.
You have to clear the fears to activate your body. You are the only one that can work through your fears and you have to do it in your own time.
Forgiveness, in its own magical way, clears a pathway in front of you. So you can move forward in life. If you forgive you will be truly happy, and your life will reflect the change back to you in every way. After all, what we think in our minds is what manifests in our lives! The bottom line is that we forgive not because the other person necessarily deserves it, but because we do not want to carry that load around until we die.
Anger, hate, and jealousy will make you old, resentful and ugly, inside and out. The question is. “How much do you love and respect yourself”? Is it enough to give yourself the gift of forgiveness? I hope so.
Anger is a powerful emotion. If it isn’t handled appropriately, it may have destructive results for both you and your loved ones.
Self-confidence is about understanding who you truly are, having the faith to understand that your decisions are correct for you in this moment. Believing that you are strong, confident and decisive about your thoughts and processes that you have made to reach this point in your life.
Don’t tune into the doubt, the negative thoughts that have been ingrained in you since you were a child. “You can’t possibly do that; it is not in your capabilities.” Know that it is your right to make the choices that you make, the decisions that reside within you.
Guidance received via your intuition can only impact your life at the level you allow and the extent to which you awaken and engage your intuition, and then act upon the insights, inspiration and information you receive.
Sleep is essential for the normal functioning of all systems in the body. Sleep has a direct effect on the individual’s mental and physical health. Lack or poor sleep can affect the individual’s ability to fight and endure sickness, cause irritability, poor concentration and impaired memory and decreases hand-eye co-ordination.
Over your lifetime you tend to build up walls around you, whether this is a form of protection, a fear of being hurt again, or you are sensitive and absorb whatever is going on around you. It is important to be aware of the barriers that you place around yourself and the reasons why you are doing this. With awareness comes the knowledge that you can change this, you can change the emotions that affect you. When you continue to build the layers around your body, you become weighted down with extra responsibilities and burdens, with awareness you learn to let go, lighten yourself, set yourself free, so that you enjoy life, live life, and stop living in survival mode.
I thought I was going to be writing a conclusion. I have decided that it is not a conclusion but a beginning. This is a reawakening of your inner soul, your inner being of who you are. You have become so caught up in everyday life that you have lost sight of who you truly are.
• You forget to take time for the self.
• You forget to allow yourself me time.
• You forget to love yourself.
• You forget to relax.
• You forget to be at peace within yourself.
• You forget to be calm and serene.
• You forget to breathe.Well that is all going to change now. You have had the realisation that things can change for you. You do have a choice and you are now willing to see this important change in you. The time is right, because you have found this book when you needed it. You have been attracted to the cover. Like they always say, “the teacher will appear when the student is ready”. If you would have told me 10 years ago that I would be writing a book on meditation I never would have believed you. It is amazing what happens in your life when you open yourself up to believe. When you believe, wonderful, amazing, stupendous things present themselves to you. When you thought it was not possible. Believe in yourself, and watch an amazing journey begin in your life.
Here’s to you benefiting as much as I did from my own personal journey into the “self”.
