Smelling; Noticing; Feeling…..

Love: a vanilla soy melt

This month I am hanging out with some awesome friendly people learning lots and lots about blogging from Pip at Meet Me At Mikes.

I believe Pip is yet to realise the challenge she has on her hands teaching me the techy stuff!

Poor girl… yes, please feel sorry for her in advance… send her emails full of empathy, virtual back patting and tissues… she’ll need all the cyber strength she can get where teaching me is concerned.  Lot’s of forehead slapping will be done.

Today I am sharing Pip’s Taking Stock Post idea (with permission of course).

Pip has this to say about taking stock…

Every so often on my blog I like to stop and think about where I am and what I’m doing. I record all of this in a Taking Stock post – changing the prompts and sharing the blank list too, so readers can do their own list if they want to. It’s interesting how a list can really sum up where things sit, especially a list like this.

I love this idea! I see it as a useful therapeutic tool or something you can just have some fun with… or maybe both at the same time!

I don’t think we should ever underestimate the power of words. Seriously, if you use this list as an opportunity to see where things sit, as Pip suggests, I believe you may just be a little surprised by what you find staring back at you on the page… in a thought provoking helpful way.

So here’s my stab at the list…

Making : New gardens.
Cooking : Me cook? That’s funny!
Drinking : Too much tea, not enough water.
Reading: A Written Journey into Meditation (again) looky in my sidebar.
Wanting: My head back.
Looking: For my head!
Playing: Around with blogging.
Deciding: Which project is next.
Wishing: I could cook!
Enjoying: Spring.
Waiting: For more sunny days.
Liking: Day light saving.
Wondering: What life will be like by next Spring.
Loving: That my brother has come to visit.
Pondering: Valued directions.
Considering: Reading a cook book!
Watching: My Mum live a meaningful life at 79.
Hoping: Too be fit again real soon.
Marvelling: At my husband’s tenacity.
Needing: A kick in the bum.
Smelling: Willows Crafts Vanilla Candles… heavenly (check out my sidebar)
Wearing: Jeans… what else!
Following: Some great blogs.
Noticing: The love and thoughtfulness of friends.
Knowing: I’m a hopeless cook.
Thinking: About life.
Feeling: Very fortunate.
Admiring: My kids choices.
Sorting: The garage, yuck.
Buying: Boring groceries… that is all.
Getting: On with it.
Bookmarking: Wise words of Josephine McKenzie.
Disliking: Cooking!
Opening: A window to the outside world.
Giggling: At Dr Sheldon Cooper.
Feeling: Grateful.
Snacking: On nothing I’ve cooked.
Coveting: Ford XR6
Wishing: My friends were cancer free.
Helping: Each other.
Hearing: Loud snoring (oh give me strength).

Well there you go. Did you learn anything deep and meaningful about me? Maybe you picked up on the subtle hints weaved in there that I really dislike cooking? What’s that you say? I was too subtle and you didn’t really notice? Oh that’s good… thought I might have over done it a tad!

Okay, so below is the list for you to copy. You can do this privately, copy it to your own blog and then let me know in the comments so I can pop over and have a read or maybe even just choose a handful of prompts and share your answers in the comments below!

Thanks Pip for sharing this great idea!

I have a great idea! Send a really cute invitation to your Grand-babies to come for Sunday Roast Lunch with their favourite dessert on offer. They’ll chew Mum and Dad’s ears off to go to Grannies! Hey presto! Family gathering Xx

Thanks for sharing your thoughts Majella 🙂
